This canoe trip works its way through a complex network of interconnected lakes and small rivers north of Missinipe.

You’ll be living the song: “Land of the silver birch. Home of the beaver. Where still the mighty moose wanders at will. Here on a rocky ledge, I’ll build my wigwam. Close by the water’s edge, silent and still. Quick as a silver fish, canoe of birch bark, o’re mighty water ways carry me forth. Blue lake and rocky shore, I will return once more."

This is a beautiful route for the beginner paddler. You will get to see some typical Precambrian Shield type terrain – granite rock outcroppings and island filled lakes. You’ll paddle through some excellent examples of the disappearing northern Boreal Forest - large stands of black spruce, jack pine, trembling aspen and white birch. You’ll paddle “The land of the silver birch; home of the beaver.”

Here is a seldom visited but incredibly spectacular circuit 150 km north of Missinipe, a virtually untouched wilderness far from the sounds of civilization. Those who have travelled this area have likened it to the best that Quetico has to offer, minus the human impact. Our route brings us down Brabant Lake into Kakabigish Lake, over Settee, north to Buchanan, down the Wierzcyki River and Chartier Rivers and finishes up in Brabant Lake again.
